First chapter describes extensive history of Curtiss firm and is illustrated with a few dozen of photographs of Curtiss' projects. Then stories of Hawk prototype and competitors' designs are described. Hawk served in foreign countries, too - one of the chapters is devoted to her fates there: China, India, Argentina, Thailand, France, Great Britain, South Africa, Narway, Peru, Holland, Germany, Finland, Brasil and others. Detailed operational service description will be published in part III. Moreover, development of XP-42 in included.
