This series is devoted to camouflage and markings of aircraft from individual countries in various periods.
It gives detailed description of camouflage on production and prototype aircraft. General camouflage patterns, variants and variations in various periods and seasons are outlined. It also gives the description of the variations introduced at unit level. Many units had their own, typical painting schemes, as well as very interesting emblems. Much attention has been paid to pilots' individual markings - often very well known; some of these have really "made a career".
Description of camouflage is accompanied by detailed overview of markings. Not only combat unit, but also auxiliary and transport unit markings have been discusseed.
Each book in the series includes vast number of photos to illustrate painting schemes on various types of aircraft used by variety of units in different periods. This allows to see the changes with time in the methods of "conceiling" aircraft - both those flying at night as during the day.
Paint nos. for all surfaces of aircraft are given. Modeller paint equivalent give additional help to modellers.
Information in these books is illustrated with large number of colour artwork. Both colour profiles of individual aircraft and four-view artwork is provided, as well as sets of unit and individual emblems. Marking and emblem size and positioning is also shown.
Initial issues in this series have discussed camouflage and markings of the German Luftwaffe in 1935-45. Subsequent books will deal with camouflage of American, British and japanese aircraft from both war-time and post-war era. World War I period camouflage publications are also planned.
