BiK 16 Prekursorzy. Pierwsze brytyjskie czołgi (Precursors. First British Tanks) PL
Author: Witold J. Ławrynowicz
B5 size, hardback with dust cover, 260 pages, 227 b&w photos, 12 drawings, 12 maps, appendices, bibliography, index.

The books describes the first British armored vehicles. Only some of the fantastic visions of the new weapon could be realised, and their authors faced not only technical problems, but also conservative thinking of the military decision-makers. First tanks - fruit of Navy people efforts - had to experience much to receive a chance of proving useful in a battle, and even then they were sent to fight in completely inapropriate conditions, which made this mission impossible.

The author tells the vivid story of armored vehicles and their battle fates - from Somma, through the mud of Ypres, Cambrai, Hamel and Amiens to the Palestinian deserts. Narration is completed with numerous excerpts from the constructors' and soldiers' memoirs.
